Create a 3D Superhero with three superpowers and an original look using Tinkercad. The project must include different angles of the character and explain how the design represents their powers.

Develop an interactive text-based game with images and choice options that lead to different endings. Use the Twine tool to create an engaging story with at least five images and three alternate endings.

How the projects will be
evaluated

Each challenge will have specific criteria. Projects will be evaluated by experts from Full Sail University based on creativity, clarity of the idea, quality of the presentation, and connection to the proposed theme.

Kristen Carter

Specialist in character creation for games, Kristen worked as Character Art Lead on projects such as The Witcher (CD PROJEKT) and has been part of studios like Blizzard Boston.

A former Full Sail instructor for eight years, she brings her expertise in character art and creative customization for games to TechFest.

Margaret Haag

Margaret Haag

Design Manager at the biotechnology company Invitae, Margaret has extensive experience in digital product design. She has worked for companies like Capital One and USA Today, always combining functionality and aesthetics to create intuitive experiences.

At TechFest, she evaluates creative and well-thought-out solutions for the app world.

Culley Bunker

Artificial
Intelligence Solution

Culley Bunker

Visual effects specialist and founder of Skulley FX, Culley has been active in Hollywood since the early 2000s, working on films such as The Hunger Games, Donnie Darko, and music videos for Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake.

A Full Sail alumnus, he brings his creative vision and focus on innovative solutions to TechFest.

Wes Locher

Wes Locher

A professional writer with over 10 years of experience in games, comics, and journalism. He is a senior writer at the studio Magic Tavern and has been published in outlets such as Wired and TED Talks.

A Full Sail graduate in Creative Writing, he now serves on the program's advisory board. He brings to TechFest a creative perspective on interactive storytelling.

To ensure a fair and well-organized competition, all projects must follow a few basic rules.

TechFest Essential Rules

Projects must be submitted by the deadline;

All content must be in English (subtitles may be included);

Only participants who submit a complete project on time will receive a certificate of participation.

Who can participate in Techfest?

Students aged 13 to 17 from schools partnered with Full Sail University and registered for TechFest are eligible. All participants represent their schools.

Can I participate in more than one project?

Yes, you can define if you want to participate in one, two or all four projects!

Can projects be done in groups?

No, for TechFest all projects are individual.

Which language must be used in the projects?

Projects must be in English. If another language is used, add subtitles — our judges don't speak Portuguese.

Can I use different software than the ones indicated in the description of the challenges?

No, for TechFest you must use the software indicated in each challenge description.

Do I need to show myself in the video projects?

No, you don't have to appear in the video — it's your choice. However, judges do appreciate seeing who the students are.

What happens if my project video ends up with more than 60 seconds?

Projects that are longer than 60 seconds won't qualify to be judged.

Do I need to pay to participate?

No. TechFest is completely free for students and partner schools.
